Selects fall to Preds

Selects vs. Predators

Monday, July 16, 2012

The Predators extended the Selects' losing streak to four games Monday night with a 6-1 loss that puts the boys in green below 0.500 for the first time since 2008. Mike Brown led off the game with an infield single, stole second, and came in to score on Tim Coverdale's RBI single to give the Selects an early 1-0 lead, but it would turn out to be their only offense on the night.

The Predators tied the game in the bottom of the second when Mark Kelly singled and scored on a passed ball and they took the lead for good with a four-run fourth inning, which was keyed by a Kelly single and a Dan Mullin triple. Chad Fink suffered his first loss as a Select, despite striking out five in four innings of work.

The Selects now sit at 6-7 and will seek to stop the bleeding Tuesday night against the Moonshiners, who beat them 5-2 earlier this year.

MVP: Mike Brown, CF
