The Selects fell victim to a dominant pitching performance Thursday night, as Fred Follings threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout, notching 15 strikeouts along the way, to lead the Kings to a 3-0 win. Kevin Ryrie (2-3) and Mike Brown (1-3, 2B, SB) accounted for the Selects' three hits.
Shayne Riepert also threw well, but came up short in this pitcher's duel. He allowed three runs on six hits with 10 strikeouts, while also tossing a complete game. The Kings scored two in the top of the first, thanks to an Aaron Correia triple and a Kyle Harloff home run, and then not again until the seventh, when Dan Mitchell ripped a leadoff triple and scored on a Correia groundout.
