Selects vs. Red Sox
Wednesday, May 26, 2010
The Selects got down early and apart from one inning, had trouble solving Kevin Buckley as the Reds handed the Selects their first loss of the season, a 7-3 decision, on Wednesday night.
The Reds got up early scoring four runs in the first two innings. The Selects responded in the third with four straight singles from Mike Brown, Kevin Ryrie, Reed Laughlin and Jamie Hickling, scoring three runs and putting the Selects back in the game.
Unfortunately that's the closest the Selects would get as Buckley shut the door allowing just one more hit, a lead-off triple to Brad Cleasby in the fourth inning, that would stay stranded at third.
The Reds added three insurance runs, one in the fourth and another two in the fifth, to ultimately seal the deal on the 7-3 Selects loss.
MVP: Reed Laughlin, RF
