Fevreau, Laughlin Power Selects to 2-0 Start

Selects vs. Cardinals

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Two first inning runs would prove to be all the Selects would need on Thursday night as Rod Fevreau led the way to a 3-1 victory over the Cardinals.

Mike Brown got things going in the first with a walk. He moved to second on a Brad Cleasby and after advancing to third on a passed ball, he would come around to score on a pitch in the dirt that got by Cardinals catcher Matthews.

The Cardinals got one back in the second but could get nothing else going against the veteran hurler who settled in and allowed just the one run over his six innings before handing it off to Scott Clark to close it out.

Reed Laughlin provided some insurance in the sixth inning notching his first home-run of the season - a monstrous shot over the scoreboard in left field - to put the Selects up 3-1 and to help solidify the win.
